NZ On Air has renewed commitment to three specialist current affairs programmes for 2014, providing a platform for intelligent discussion and media commentary.
Q + A will return on TVOne in 2014 with its weekly examination of social and political issues. TV3's The Nation will also be back debating the big issues in a long-form interview format. Both are backed by the Platinum Fund which supports quality content.
Returning to a new channel and now in prime time is the media commentary show Media Matters which has previously been known as Media 7 and Media 3. Moving to Maori Television, Russell Brown and a co-host will put the spotlight on media commentary and developments.
"These programmes bring important perspectives and add real diversity to the current affairs programming mix available to New Zealand audiences," said NZ On Air Chief Executive Jane Wrightson.
