Deadline for COVID-19 relief additional funding
This is advance notice for productions that have been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions - at this stage relief funding will cease to be available after 30 June.
Final applications for COVID-19 Relief Additional Funding must be received by Friday 11 June, 5pm in order to be assessed and processed before the FY end.
Please register your interest in applying for additional funding with Yvette Waikari yvette@nzonair.govt.nz before submitting your application. We will advise if this situation changes.
Merv Norrish
Kua hinga te totara i te wao nui a Tane.
NZ On Air is sad to learn of the passing last week of Merv Norrish.
A former diplomat, Merv was the inaugural Chair of the brand new Broadcasting Commission from 1989 to 1995.
Current Chair Dr Ruth Harley was then the Executive Director. She says, "Merv was my first ever Chair as an Executive Director. It was truly a privilege to learn from him how to work as a Chief Executive in a governance model. Merv was charming, funny, intelligent and a very experienced and tough minded negotiator. I remain very grateful to him." Moe mai rā e te rangatira.
