NZ On Air will fund 23 new music projects in its latest Making Tracks funding round.
The 23 projects were selected from a field of 108 applications.
There are 16 $10,000 grants for recording a song and making a music video to back up the release of the song and seven $6,000 grants for making a music video only.
This is the fourth Making Tracks funding round for the 2014-2015 financial year. So far this year (since July) we have taken in 502 applications and we have funded 91 songs.
"Last night we celebrated new talent with the naming of the NZ On Air Critics Choice recipient – Randa. Today we celebrate all the potential in the up-and-comers funded through this round of Making Tracks,” said NZ On Air Music Manager Brendan Smyth. “There’s more local music diversity on radio today than ever before.”
Decisions are based on the broadcast, music and audience merits of the songs that have been submitted, judged by a panel of broadcasting and music professionals.
