NZ On Air is pleased to announce funding for the return of three popular comedy programmes.
Agent Anna is being supported for a second and longer season after the successful first series starring Robyn Malcolm ran on TV One earlier this year. The scripted comedy from Great Southern Television was the highest rating NZ On Air-funded comedy programme for the 2012/2013 financial year.
The agency is also pleased to continue support for the much loved 7 Days and Jono and Ben at Ten. These programmes are continuing to build on their strong audience numbers and combined have provided TV3 viewers with an engaging and lighthearted end to the week.
"It's fantastic to kick-off the funding year with three such strong comedy programmes," says NZ On Air Chief Executive Jane Wrightson. "7 Days is one of the longest running New Zealand comedy series and like Jono and Ben at Ten, its clever team has found a large and devoted audience. I'm also looking forward to seeing what happens to the awkward but affable Anna in a longer series this time round."
NZ On Air will be making more funding announcements in the week ahead.
