NZ On Air will fund 24 new music projects in its latest MakingTracks funding round.
The 24 projects were selected from a field of 153 applications, the biggest haul of applications so far this funding year.
There are 14 $10,000 grants for recording a song and making a music video to back up the release of the song and 10 $6,000 grants for making a music video only.
This is the fifth of 10 MakingTracks funding rounds for the 2015-2016 financial year. At the half way mark, 644 songs have been submitted and 112 of those projects funded.
"In our final round of this calendar year we have another awesome mix of established and newer artists funded to bring their music to your ears,” said NZ On Air Music Manager Brendan Smyth. “Everything from hard out rock, to hiphop, electro-pop, funky jazz fusion... variety and diversity in action!”
Decisions are based on the broadcast, music and audience merits of the songs that have been submitted, judged by a panel of broadcasting and music professionals.
