NZ On Air will fund 23 new music projects in its latest Making Tracks funding round.
The 23 projects were selected from a field of 130 applications.
There are 12 $10,000 grants for recording a song and making a music video to back up the release of the song and 11 $6,000 grants for making a music video only.
This is the third Making Tracks funding round for the 2014-2015 financial year. In the last financial year to 30 June, we took in 1,284 applications and we were able to fund 234 songs.
"This round we have a nice mix of experienced hit-makers such as Jason Kerrison and Ruby Frost and some total newbies such as Fazerdaze and NameUL,” said NZ On Air Music Manager Brendan Smyth. “Mixing it up means there is greater music diversity on our airwaves and up-and-coming artists get a break.”
Decisions are based on the broadcast, music and audience merits of the songs that have been submitted, judged by a panel of broadcasting and music professionals.
