Decisions from NZ On Air’s April 2014 Making Tracks funding round.
NZ On Air will fund 23 new music projects in its latest Making Tracks funding round.
The 23 projects were selected from a field of 134 applications.
There are 16 $10,000 grants for recording a song and making a music video to back up the release of the song and seven $6,000 grants for making a music video only.
This is the eighth Making Tracks funding round for the 2013-2014 funding year. So far this year, we have taken in 1,037 applications and we have funded 185 songs.
"This month four of the tracks funded are from artists or bands we’ve never funded before – so big congrats to them and we look forward to hearing their songs and watching their videos in the future. Remember to get out there and enjoy lots of local music in NZ Music Month starting tomorrow," said NZ On Air Music Manager Brendan Smyth.
Decisions are based on the broadcast, music and audience merits of the songs that have been submitted, judged by a panel of broadcasting and music professionals.
