Applications will open from 9am on Tuesday 1 April for the 2025 round of the Game Development Sector Rebate (GDSR).

The application period will be open until 4pm on Friday 9 May.

Every business that plans to apply for the 2025 GDSR will have already registered into our new NZ On Air Portal as part of GDSR Registration which was open between 3-28 February – and will have received notification if they are eligible to apply for the 2025 GDSR.

All GDSR Applications – as well as all future rounds of the GDSR – will now take place in the new NZ On Air Portal. This new portal is where successful applicants will be able to view all the details of their contract, send invoices and manage their account.

Adding additional people to your company in the portal

Anyone who is going to work on your application or create and send invoices will need to have an account in the new NZ On Air Portal. You can create an account by visiting the NZ On Air Portal.

When additional people create an account, we will confirm their details and verify the request for access. This will be a manual process so please allow three business days for confirmation before those additional team members can view and access your company’s applications, contracts and payments. This is a vital step for the security of your information.

It is important to point out that anyone who registers into your company account will have access to all documentation relating to your company, including all the details of your applications, contracts and payments.

Webinar

The NZGDA will be hosting a webinar – Navigating the 2025 GDSR Application Process with NZ On Air – where the NZ On Air Games team will be on hand to walk you through the full application process and answer any of your questions about applying.

The webinar is on Wednesday 2 April from 2pm – 3pm on Zoom. All you need to do to register for the webinar is go to the NZGDA events page.
