We are pleased to announce the launch of audioculture.co.nz - an online history of New Zealand music.
The new site launching today covers music of every genre from early recordings to internationally renowned New Zealand artists of today.
AudioCulture contains reviews, discographies, interviews, bios, background articles, images, recordings, music videos and will be a place for artists and fans to connect.
It's the brain child of music doyen Simon Grigg and has been brought to life with the help of the team behind the award-winning showcase of New Zealand television, film and music video, NZ On Screen. The two sites share technology, back-room resources and governance, with the content being curated by different specialist teams.
"I'm thrilled to help bring together so many stories and images of our unique musical culture and the many people who created it - and to do it on a site that is both accessible and looks great" says Simon Grigg.
"This is an evolving music history site that can be enjoyed by everyone" says NZ On Air Chief Executive Jane Wrightson. "It will keep a record of what is happening now, while ensuring this country's colourful musical past isn't lost".
AudioCulture sits alongside the classical music site sounz.org.nz and new music discovery site theaudience.co.nz.
