Mō ngā tono tuhinga totoko, mōhiohio pono - Scripted and Non-fiction funding

We fund the creation of Scripted and Non-fiction content that reflects Aotearoa New Zealand

You can apply for Scripted funding if you’re creating media content with a fictional, scripted storyline. Genres include drama, comedy and children’s content.

Non-fiction is media content that conveys information about the real world. We used to call this ‘factual’ content – it’s not grounded in imagination or fictionalisation. Genres include:

  • documentaries
  • specialist current affairs
  • events coverage
  • comedy panel shows
  • children's content

Funding is for audio-visual content which might mean video (for TV, On Demand and other major distribution channels), radio, podcasts, interactive content (such as games) and other mediums. All content must be available online and freely accessible.
