Before you apply for New Music Single funding, make sure:
- your music is classified as New Zealand music
- you meet our entry threshold criteria
To be eligible to apply for New Music Single funding, you need to answer ‘yes’ to at least 10 out of 30 criteria benchmarks for your music to date.
These criteria determine that artists:
- have made steps to develop their audience
- will use the funding to further the goal of expanding their audience.
The criteria document will ask you about your:
- audience and/or following
- track record in the New Zealand music scene
- business credentials
- strategic plans for what you will do with the funding
- budget and how you intend to spend the funding
