New Music Kids funding

New Music Kids provides funding for children’s artists to:

• professionally record one song, preferably, or a maximum of two songs, with a focus on tamariki
• visual content to promote the single(s)
• other marketing and promotional costs to help increase the amount of quality children’s content for the tamariki of Aotearoa.

Artists creating singles for tamariki can apply to receive:

• up to $10,000 (plus GST, if registered)
• plus a 10% mandatory Artist Creation Fee
• a total funding amount of up to $11,000.

The mandatory 10% Artist Creation Fee, up to $1,000 plus GST (if applicable), will be added to your grant and paid out only in the final drawdown. This fee covers the artist's creative work on the song.

New Music Kids has no entry threshold criteria for applying. The funding is open to all New Zealand children's music artists.

All Music funding applications must include an initial budget outlining your expected costs.

• You can then upload or link to it in your New Music Kids funding application.

Successful applicants can claim any eligible expenses from the date the funding round opens.
