Haukāinga is a regional media content provider that serves the Taitokerau and wider Northland region - it's just one of six of the regional media providers we support.
This audio-visual content is rarely provided by national media organisations and is a key part of our support for community broadcasting.
In May 2018 we commissioned an independent review of funded regional media by former NZ Herald Editor Dr Gavin Ellis, you can read the full report here.
Following that review a fresh call for proposals was issued for civic journalism that would reach regional audiences.
