NZ On Air's main music mission is to get more NZ music played on NZ radio. We spend $5.4 million per year on a mix of funding schemes and promotional strategies to help achieve this.

Music Funding
We provide grants for Music Videos, New Recording Artists, Albums and International Radio Promotion campaigns. We also fund NZ music programmes for TV and radio.
Music Promotion
To promote NZ music to radio and television we produce the Kiwi Hit Disc series, hold music showcases and play a role in NZ Music Month. We also help take New Zealand music to the world with our Phase Five campaign.
