NZ On Air funds programmes that reflect and develop New Zealand identity and culture. We make decisions based on our strategy and the Broadcasting Act.
Below you'll find information on how to apply for production and development funding. Find out about regional television programme applications in our Community Broadcasting section.

Any programme funded by NZ On Air must be transmitted on a national, free-to-air channel - TV One, TV2, TV3, C4, Maori Television, or Prime. So you must get a letter of commitment from a broadcaster before submitting your application.
Development funding is for researching or writing scripts or treatments. We mostly contribute to drama; and occasionally to documentary development. Production funding is for shooting and completing a programme.

You will need to include a range of supporting material with your application. To find out more, download the guidelines.
