
From 1 July 2012 NZ On Air's broadcast archiving responsibilities are being administered by the Ministry for Culture and Heritage and funding has been permanently transferred to the Ministry. This results from a multi-agency archiving review led by NZ On Air which was completed in 2009. See here.
From 1 July 2010 funding previously allocated by NZ On Air to the New Zealand Film Archive for broadcast archiving has been transferred to the Ministry for Culture and Heritage.
Sound Archives/Nga Taonga Korero is New Zealand's only specialist archive of contemporary and historical radio programmes. Funding for this service became the responsibility of the Ministry for Culture and Heritage from 1 July 2012.
